Focusing on Digital Urbanism: Generating Value for People

Day 3 will feature a series of plenary sessions, innovative case studies, interactive discussions focusing on the role of technological advancement and ICT to improve the lives of citizens and generate value by empowering them.



Revolutionising city planning using Virtual Reality (VR)

This session will help to understand what VR means for urban planning and how it can be applied in design & local government context as well as how VR is about to change the way one conceives urban development. There will be a live demonstration of a city model by using Google Cardboard.


An Interactive Exercise in the Science of Walkability

Undertake a practical exercise in mapping actual pedsheds and appreciating the power of this technique to support evidence based transport planning and urban design. You will be provided with A3 maps and drawing equipment and will discuss the practical applications of this technique in your professional practice.

Public-Private Dialogue

In this session thought leaders from public and private sectors will discuss about reality of future urban transformation and the value it will have on citizens.

Interactive Think-Tank

In this session the industry experts will highlight how smart cities services can be made affordable to end users and the role of technology to improve citizens' everyday life.

City & Country Spotlights

These sessions will highlight case studies from different cities and countries, who will share their experience on the latest developments and solutions to create sustainable, livable, citizen-centric smart cities.
